Two men from Barrie are facing charges after Brantford Police shut down an illegal cannabis store and seized over $130,000 worth of products.
The investigation began in late January when police received a tip from a concerned citizen about a cannabis store located near Colborne and Clarence Streets in downtown Brantford. The complaint raised suspicions that the business might be operating without a license.
After confirming that the store was not properly licensed, officers from the BPS Core Engagement and Response Team (CERT) executed a search warrant on Thursday, April 10. During the search, police seized approximately $130,860 worth of illegal cannabis and related products.
The two men, aged 50 and 51, were arrested and are now facing charges related to the distribution of illicit cannabis and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.
