Norfolk Man Sentenced to Jail for Drug-Impaired Driving Conviction

A recent case in Norfolk County has resulted in a significant jail term for Jarren L. Coutch, 33, following his conviction for causing a collision while impaired. The incident, which occurred on June 28, 2023, along Highway 3 at approximately 3:30 p.m., led to Coutch’s arrest by Norfolk OPP.

During the court proceedings last week, Coutch pleaded guilty to charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle and drug-impaired driving. Despite no reported injuries to the police, the seriousness of the offense was not overlooked by Justice Robert Gee.

Acknowledging Coutch’s prior time served, totaling 86 days in jail, Justice Gee imposed an additional 248 days of incarceration at the reformatory. This sentencing underscores the legal consequences individuals face for endangering public safety through impaired driving.
