A 55-year-old man from Vaughan, Johann Emamali of Maple, recently hit the jackpot with a $108,391.50 second prize win in the Feb. 3 Lotto 6-49 draw. This marks Emamali’s first significant lottery win.
“I play my own numbers that consist of anniversary and birthdays,” Emamali shared during his visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his cheque.
Emamali, who works as a property manager, stumbled upon his stroke of luck while checking his ticket using the OLG app. “I thought I won $108 at first. I showed my wife and quickly realized it was indeed more than I thought. I was so surprised I began to laugh,” he recounted.
With plans to pay off his mortgage and wisely invest his winnings, Emamali expressed his excitement, saying, “This feels very rewarding.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Keele Street in Maple.
